Stay at home mom To CEO at home

Catherine 43 years old, a mother of two was informed complete bed rest while she was carrying her third pregnancy. She had a low lying placenta and declared at-risk pregnancy and was advised complete bed rest. Catherine was working as Head Chef at a five-star hotel in the United Arab Emirates.

She was known for her aptitude and her conscientious working conduct. She was appraised by her management for the skill she possessed, as she let the flow of work be as smooth as the flowing waters in the most peak hours. This lady of exuberant energy and vigour was grounded just in one call by her doctors. Knowing Catherine her management decided to let her rest at home and back as she recovers. The hotel was ready to wait till their head chef gets well soon.

Time passed and Catherine couldn’t manage to get back to work until she would deliver.

The lady of her calibre wouldn’t let work suffer, so she did manage the show while lying in her couch. She scheduled meeting and organised work while she lay in bed for her baby to be safe. But yes the stress didn’t allow her to continue and soon she had to dismiss work completely. Of course, it was mentally traumatic but there was so much to handle at home too.

The 2 boys managed to keep her smile in bed and showed their curiosity for their third sibling to come in soon. Catherine gave up her job and her colleagues were missing the iron lady for every bit of their work. Catherine delivered, and a wave of happiness swept the entire family. All were so happy to welcome their new member. She was a pretty girl.

Catherine got busy as a mother of three. The entire family was busy and magnetized with the little princess growing up. Catherine was desperately waiting to get back to work and so was her workplace too. The castle of her dreams just came down in the morning when her newborn got an epileptic attack. Catherine and her husband rushed her to the hospital. A series of tests were done and the girl was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. The condition called for surgery and soon it was realised that Catherine would have to attentively take care of her baby.

The decision to be by ailing your child is more to weigh than to be by your awaited growth in career. She walked on the crumbled pieces of her dreams and decided to stay home for the health of her daughter and the happiness of her family.

Her little went through the surgery and Catherine got busy as the best mom. Time swept by and she excelled in her role as a mother too. Opportunities kept knocking at her door. All she could do is smile and pass them to her colleagues who needed them. Her heart ached but her mind soothed her as she knew that was the best thing to do.

I met Catherine at her son’s school at one of the Health conferences I was addressing for kids. She loved the session. She politely requested my contact details. We started exchanging emails and I learned about Catherine and her career goals. Her career prospects which laid down deep in heaped roles as a mother and a wife and responsibilities as a home manager.

I decided to unfold these layers to reach the floor of the ocean where lied her drowned passions among the deep waters. I wished to get there and lift them to the surface to let her float with her ambitions and aspirations.

I spoke to Catherine and her heartbeat accelerated. She wondered if it could happen amidst all that was going around her. She required a little boost to get into her shoes, to wear her head chef cap. She wore it as she wore her crown. The lady was ready to take up the challenge.

We had to work out options that Catherine could wind up in a small period. We had to work out a regime which divided her time evenly for all her responsibilities and multiply her opportunities.

Catherine started gathering all her resources on her free time while her kids were away and her daughter was asleep. We scheduled her free time which she turned into a time for her passion, her work.

With all the resources she could gather, Catherine started her online cooking course. It started with reaching out to a few through one to one video chat to developing her online cooking class. With all the limited time Catherine had, she started enjoying reaching out to people teaching something she was excellent at. People started applauding her for her innovative and excellent approach and her fan following increased. Catherine was flooded with suggestions and she wanted to explore further.

Today Catherine runs her online class and trains many women to empower their cooking passion.

She is still a Stay At Home mother But a CEO at home too. A Mom of 3 who runs her business successfully at home while she can take care of her ailing daughter, bring her up safely. And attend her family too while she pursues her passion.

Catherine leaves a message for all the Stay At home Mothers.
